Meet Pastor Herthel
Pastor Cory Herthel grew up in a typical secular home. Neither of his parents had a Christian foundation, and so neither did he. The Lord was very rarely mentioned. Bible Study & regular devotional time were nonexistent. However, the Lord looked beyond his upbringing and early in his teen years, Pastor Cory accepted Jesus as his best friend, Savior, and Lord of his life.
Since becoming a Christian in 1996, Pastor Cory has had many opportunities to share his faith in Jesus with others. Soon after he was baptized, he was invited to preach his first sermon at the age of 15. From that point forward the Lord consistently provided opportunities for preaching, Bible Study, and sharing the gospel. Pastor Cory genuinely loves sharing the hope of the soon coming of Jesus Christ and The Three Angels' Messages of Revelation 14, as understood by Seventh-day Adventists.
He met his wife Christal in December, 2000. They were married on July 12, 2003 and moved from Indianapolis, Indiana to Chattanooga, Tennessee so he could study Theology at Southern Adventist University. During their time in Tennessee, Pastor Cory was a branch manager for Regions Bank in Chattanooga and Christal was the loan department manager at the Collegedale Credit Union until they left Tennessee to come to Michigan for ministry.
Pastor Cory and his family joined the Michigan Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in September 2012. His first pastoral district was served in the Midland and Mt Pleasant, Michigan Seventh-day Adventist Churches.
Pastor Cory and his family are delighted to be continuing their service in ministry here at the Warren Church. They solicit your prayers that Christ may be emulated in their lives and that God may be glorified through their ministry to the communities they serve until He comes in the clouds that Day. They wish to extend a very warm invitation to all who are seeking Christ in their lives to come see what we are all about at the Warren, MI Seventh-day Adventist Church.
